 Miss Reba In Comics

Lilith, not only a legendary creature of the night, but also a character used it Marvel Comics, as a villainess against those heroes that battle the creatures of the night.

Lilith was thought through ancient texts to be the first wife of Adam. The reason that God then had to make Eve for Adam, is because Lilith would not be submissive to Adam, in sexual intercourse. I have quoted the following from en.wikipedia.org

"A medieval reference to Lilith as the first wife of Adam is the anonymous The Alphabet of Ben-Sira, written sometime between the 8th and 11th centuries. Lilith is described as refusing to assume a subservient role to Adam during sexual intercourse and so deserting him ("She said, 'I will not lie below,' and he said, 'I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while I am to be the superior one.'"). Lilith promptly uttered the name of God, took to the air, and left the Garden, settling on the Red Sea coast. As a side note, this places Lilith in a unique position, for she left the Garden of her own accord and before the Fall of Man, and so is untouched by the Tree of Knowledge. However, according to legend, she also knows the "true name of God"."

So the legend arouse of Lilith. Although like many legends, the validity to them is based on the mind of the reader of such legends. But the principle in here, lies that women are not meant to be subservient to men. Women, are in fact the dominant of the genders.

Through time though, the arrogance and insecurities of the male gender have caused them to try and dominant the female gender so that they feel they have a power over something. Adam was alone and wanted companionship, and according to this legend, God gave him Lilith. But Lilith would have nothing to do with Adam, because he wanted to dominate her and make her a lesser being. And she knew that was not the way it was suppose to be. As God himself told Adam that he would make a companion for him. Not a slave.

The Lilith of Marvel Comics was not so much deal with the original legend. Lilith of Marvel Comics, was Lilith, that sprung her offspring, or Lilin across the globe in order to combat such dark heroes as Ghost Rider, Dr. Strange, Johnny Blaze (the original Ghost Rider), Blade, and Hannibal King.

The basics of the story are the same, the theme is just not as close to the original text of Lilith.

The reason for the comparison is that Mistress Reba has already embraced her role in the male gender. What people don't understand is that this is a relationship that both the Mistress and the slave are comfortable with. There is something gained from both parties. And just because one doesn't understand it, doesn't make it inappropriate or evil. All must have a open mind. Unfortunately many don't.

The legend of Lilith did not spring from nothing. It's validity is no more of no less possible than the validity of the Bible. It is all about perception and awareness.

I hope that something might be learned from these words.

Thank you for your time.
