 Miss Reba In Comics

Lilith, not only a legendary creature of the night, but also a character used it Marvel Comics, as a villainess against those heroes that battle the creatures of the night.

Lilith was thought through ancient texts to be the first wife of Adam. The reason that God then had to make Eve for Adam, is because Lilith would not be submissive to Adam, in sexual intercourse. I have quoted the following from en.wikipedia.org

"A medieval reference to Lilith as the first wife of Adam is the anonymous The Alphabet of Ben-Sira, written sometime between the 8th and 11th centuries. Lilith is described as refusing to assume a subservient role to Adam during sexual intercourse and so deserting him ("She said, 'I will not lie below,' and he said, 'I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while I am to be the superior one.'"). Lilith promptly uttered the name of God, took to the air, and left the Garden, settling on the Red Sea coast. As a side note, this places Lilith in a unique position, for she left the Garden of her own accord and before the Fall of Man, and so is untouched by the Tree of Knowledge. However, according to legend, she also knows the "true name of God"."

So the legend arouse of Lilith. Although like many legends, the validity to them is based on the mind of the reader of such legends. But the principle in here, lies that women are not meant to be subservient to men. Women, are in fact the dominant of the genders.

Through time though, the arrogance and insecurities of the male gender have caused them to try and dominant the female gender so that they feel they have a power over something. Adam was alone and wanted companionship, and according to this legend, God gave him Lilith. But Lilith would have nothing to do with Adam, because he wanted to dominate her and make her a lesser being. And she knew that was not the way it was suppose to be. As God himself told Adam that he would make a companion for him. Not a slave.

The Lilith of Marvel Comics was not so much deal with the original legend. Lilith of Marvel Comics, was Lilith, that sprung her offspring, or Lilin across the globe in order to combat such dark heroes as Ghost Rider, Dr. Strange, Johnny Blaze (the original Ghost Rider), Blade, and Hannibal King.

The basics of the story are the same, the theme is just not as close to the original text of Lilith.

The reason for the comparison is that Mistress Reba has already embraced her role in the male gender. What people don't understand is that this is a relationship that both the Mistress and the slave are comfortable with. There is something gained from both parties. And just because one doesn't understand it, doesn't make it inappropriate or evil. All must have a open mind. Unfortunately many don't.

The legend of Lilith did not spring from nothing. It's validity is no more of no less possible than the validity of the Bible. It is all about perception and awareness.

I hope that something might be learned from these words.

Thank you for your time.

 Miss Terri In Comics

Tom Artis

She Hulk . . .You can't really appreciate all that Jennifer Walters has went through, if you only see a hot green-skinned chick (that Adam Hughes love to draw GIGANTIC hooters on) standing one the front page of a comic book.

Jennifer Walters started out much like Bruce Banner (The Hulk) in the demenor of her "Hulk" persona. Jennifer was involved in a shooting trying expose corrupt practices of the mafia, as a lawyer. Well in an effort they tried to kill her, but only ended up harming her. But she had lost so much blood that she was in danger of dying. Fortunatly her cousin, Bruce Banner, had the same blood type that she did. But unfortunatly, the gamma in his blood was passed on in the blood transfusion. Just like Bruce, whenever Jennifer became emotionaly distraught or her adreniline kicked in she became She-Hulk. But just like the Hulk, She-Hulk has gone through many changes. Many many changes.

Miravi (visit his site at www.catthouse.com )

The reason that I associated Miss Terri with She-Hulk, is because through all the changes that Jennifer has gone through, she has always remained true to herself. She has never sacrificed herself, or lost sight of who she is because of the things that have happened to her. She has had hard times as all people do. But she seems to always see that there are good times to come, and even at what is precived to be rock bottom, really isnt.

She has been the Savage She-Hulk. Angry, violent and not in control. When she would change to She-Hulk she was unable to control the rage of the She-Hulk. The rage that obviously stemed from something that happened to her as Jennifer. But aren't we all angry at times? Don't we all lose control?

Then she reverted to She-Hulk, and was permantly She-Hulk. This series written (mostly) by John Byrne, show more of light side to She-Hulk. Here She-Hulk was a lawyer again, but was intelligent and capable. Totally concious that she was She-Hulk, but unable to be Jennifer Walters again.

This here series is what really reminds me of Miss Terri. As Miss Terri is such a upbeat and positive person despite the things that have happened to her in her life. She remains such a strenght to her husband and children. She-Hulk was always on the plus side of things, and at the same time down because of her publicity.

John Byrne did something that had only been done by one other person in comics. (See Animal Man #26 post) He wrote the comic in the manner that She-Hulk was aware that she was in a comic book at that she had readers. She would always complain to Byrne that he gave her second-string villians to fight. She always threatened Byrne when he would do "sexy" covers for the comics, complaining that Byrne was always trying to sell the comics to men, when she was more of a strength to women's rights.

There are alot of things about She-Hulk that remind me of Miss Terri. The more I write this, the more things that I think of. I really was on que wit this one. I wanted to do it from the start, but I wasnt sure. Now I'm glad that I did.

Miss Terri seems like that strength here on blogstream. It's like Pioneer is Byrne, sitting back watching our lives, writing what we should say and do. And there Miss Terri is telling him what for! Haha, that's a pretty good one. Not to say that Mr. Pioneer is controlling us at all. Just the analogy popped in my head.

All I am saying is that Miss Terri is a big stength to all of us. My boy, my brotha (who will be back) Big Shane, said that Miss Terri is the glue that hold blogstream together. But the thing is, even with She-Hulk, as powerful as she was, and as independent as she wanted to be, everyone needs help. We can't sit back and ask Miss Terri to hold all this together. We have to be there for her.

So let's all get out our blood transfusion kits and let's all get a gamma blood transfusion and help Miss Terri out.

I'll leave you with one last picture. Here is Miss Terri going to work. (Wow Miss Terri that's alot of leg.)

Juan Bobillo

We can't all be strong on our own Miss Terri. We are here for you.

 Mr. Darker In Comics

Mr. Darker was a sinch once I really thought about it. I mean come on guys, what is Mr. Darker good at? Well besides being side-splittingly funny, he is smart. Not only just smart, but computer smart. I ask him something about MP3 players and he throws stats up on the screen faster than I can name all of Thanos' apperances in comics. And that is fast.

This particular Blue Beetle is not the original. Ted Kord was the second person to take up the Blue Bettle mantle. This one appeals to me more as in relation to Mr. Darker, because Ted Kord was a buisness man. Ted had a company in computers, finance, and nanotechnology. He used his company, much like Bruce Wayne (Batman) did to help him in his fight against crime.

Ted supported the JLA, at one time and the JSA, I believe with his company's advances in technology and mechanics. Many times the JLA was dependant on Ted coming up with new technology to help them in their endevors.

Ted was also just human. He had no super-powers of any kind. He relied on his brain and his technology to help him reach his goals. Most recently, in DC Countdown, Ted revealed a plot called O.M.A.C. It was an unknown project being funded by Kordomniversal (Ted Cord's company) and Waynetech. Someone was using their money to fund this project that no one knew about. It ended up that an old acquantince of Ted's, a Maxwell Lord, had been compiling information on the heroes of the DC Universe. Finding out their secret identites, weakness, strengths, family, companies, and relations to other people. Also that Max had built a satellite called "Brother One" that followed the 5% of metahumans that inhabit Earth. The 5% that made a difference, the ones that were truely powerful enough to have an effect on the Earth.

In Ted's attempt to stop Max and try to warn the others, he was shot and killed by Max. But what he deduced and followed is what made him a step even above Batman, who is called the "worlds greatest detective".

This is what reminds me of Mr. Darker. A person with intellect that will help this world someday. Someone who accomplishes things with his brain and his technology that will forever change the way we see things. I'm telling you, look out Mr. Darker is going to change the world.

 Miss Harbour In Comics

Okay I am like so on a role with these charecter comparisons. I had Miss Harbour pegged pretty well. Look out Mr. Darker, your next.

Aunt May. She was always a constant support to Peter Parker (Spider-Man) even though most of his carrer as Spider-Man, Peter never knew that Aunt May knew he was Spider-Man. This touching details were revealed in Amazing Spider-Man #400, right before she died. (For more information see the post "Amazing Spider-Man #400".)

Miss Harbour reminds me of Aunt May so well, because of her kind spirit and her willingness to help others without thinking of what she may get out of it. A true spirit that just wants everyone to feel loved and cared for. Aunt May was such a constant support to Peter, being there for him both with his problems as Spider-Man and Peter. Although there were many times that Aunt May was such a burden in that Peter was constantly concerned that his life as Spider-Man endangered Aunt May because of the types of criminals that he deals with. He was afraid that one day, they would come after her, if they ever found out that he was Spider-Man.

There is no doubt that Aunt May's unknown (to Peter) acceptance of him being Spider-Man was more of a help to Peter than he realized. Although there were several times that there were criminals that came after Aunt May, Spider-Man was always there to rescue her, to his knowledge, unable to tell her who he was, because of these criminals. Depsite all these things that came about because of Peter being Spider-Man, Aunt May lived a full and happy life. Although Aunt May did pass away in Amazing Spider-Man #400. It was quite a shock to readers, although we all knew that at her age, it was a unavoidable ending.

Miss Harbour really was much remenicant of the actress that played Aunt May in the Spider-Man movies, Rosemary Harris. Many times the things that Miss Harbour has said reminds me so much of this actress' protrayal of Aunt May. She can be hard-nosed when the point needs to be made. But can be so concerning and loving when someone just needs someone to talk to, or even someone to listen. This is Miss Harbour.

If you haven't seen the Spider-Man movies, you should Miss Harbour. For me it is a shinning tribute to the support and happiness that you bring here to blogstream.

Miss Harbour aka Aunt May.
